THE POSITION

We invite you to join District 8-0 as a bridge inspection team leader. You will play a vital role as a team leader in the performance of technical, in-depth bridge inspections on a full range of major and minor structures. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Your role as team leader involves supervising and participating in structure inspections to identify damage, wear, and corrosion, as well as creating sketches and taking measurements for analysis. You will direct field inspections and prepare reports documenting deficiencies, recommending repairs, and prioritizing them. Additionally, you will train subordinates in using inspection equipment, enter information into the database, and maintain a safe work environment by following safety procedures and promoting awareness among employees to prevent accidents and injuries.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

+ Full-time employment

+ Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

+ One year as a Transportation Construction Inspector ; or

+ Two years of construction inspection experience and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology ; or

+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Condition of Employment:

+ This position is required to meet the qualifications for a bridge inspection team leader as defined by the current National Bridge Inspection Standards.

+ This position will require possession of a valid non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
