Required Skills, Knowledge and
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess experience communicating with children
- Must possess good interpersonal relationship skills using tact, patience and courtesy, particularly with respect to children
- Must have the ability to handle situations that may occur with children at the crossing
- Must have the ability to deal with dissatisfied individuals
- Must have good attendance
Primary Duties
- Directs school children to cross the street at the crossing signal
- Controls vehicular traffic as necessary consistent with the safety of all concerned to assure safe crossing for children
- Controls traffic when necessary for the safe travel of children
- Wears safety vest while directing traffic and/or crossing children
- Instructs all school children to walk at the crossing point
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or his/her designee
