ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.

We are accepting applications for a Maintenance Repair Worker 2 within the Office of General Services, headquartered at Fountain Square, assigned to Franklin County. What you will do

* Perform skilled & semi-skilled maintenance tasks

* Minor installation & repair of plumbing equipment, electrical equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, electrical circuits)

* Building maintenance work (alteration &/or repair to buildings, prepare surfaces for painting, painting, physically move office furniture from one area to another)

* Operate utility vehicles, pickup trucks, skid steer

* Remove snow & ice from walkways & parking lot (shovel, blower, plow)

* You will be required to use, and to be comfortable on ladders

* Need to be able to lift 50 lbs.

* Starting hourly pay of $19.00/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 3.5 years of service, with an end salary of $20.92/hr.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: As an "essential" employee you may be required to respond to weather related events (e.g., snow, wind damage, etc.) outside of your normal work hours (after 5:00PM, weekends, holidays). May work evening shift; may be exposed to high & low temperatures; may be exposed to weather.

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition & subtraction & in reading, writing & speaking common English vocabulary; 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair & use of associated hand & power tools & equipment); in Department of Natural Resources, Division of Forestry only, applicants must have successfully completed the mandated basic firefighter/introduction to fire behavior course (S-130/S-190); in accordance with section 124.11 (B) (2) of revised code, Director Of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class & therefore exempt from written examination. Valid commercial driver's license required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by sections 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio revised code.

* Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above may be substituted for the experience required, but not for the mandated licensure.
