Founded in 2007, Initiate Government Solutions (IGS) a Woman Owned Small Business. We are a fully remote IT services provider that delivers innovative Enterprise IT and Health Services solutions across the federal sector. Our focus is on data analytics, health informatics, cloud migration, and the modernization of federal information systems.

IGS is currently recruiting for a remote Cache Developer to support our work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Assignment of Work and Travel:

This is a remote access assignment. Candidate will work remotely daily and will remotely access VA systems and therein use approved VA provided communications systems. Travel is not required; however, the candidate may be required to attend onsite client meetings as requested.

Responsibilities and Duties (Included but not limited to):
  • Research and develop custom solutions for data warehouse; design and implementation of new solutions to mature, large scale distributed deployments.
  • Work on POCs and cutting-edge features like Natural Language Processing before they are integrated into the product.
  • Influence product decisions, features and APIs based on your real-world usage experience.
  • Independently take projects to completion with team guidance.
  • Ability to set up new Cache instances including hardware and software configuration.
  • Ability to setup and configure TLS inside the InterSystems stack and IIS.
  • Work directly with InterSystems technical support as required to troubleshoot complex configurations.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree; 5+ years' professional experience in Software Development or relevant experience in the InterSystems technology stack.
  • Experience with Intersystem technology stack including iKnow, Object Script, and Ensemble.
  • Experience developing and maintaining RESTful API's including SOAP and Web API.
  • Experience with other data formats including JSON and XML.
  • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design, and complexity analysis
  • Experience translating design mockups and prototypes into working application designs using the full stack.
  • Experience with Agile Frameworks
  • Experience with TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Automated Testing
  • Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and agile development environment.


Preferred Qualifications and Core Competencies:
  • Active VA Public Trust
  • Familiarity with HealthShare, Ensemble, iKnow, DeepSee, IRIS Data Platform
  • Familiar with: FHIR, HTML5/CSS, Restful Web Services, Javascript, C# or Java, and SQL
  • Prior, successful experience working in a remote environment.

Compensation: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary, including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
