Perform modifications, upgrades, and installations of avionics systems on Army Global 6500 aircraft according to engineering specifications and technical manuals.
Conduct regular inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of avionics equipment to identify and repair defects or malfunctions.
Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate installation and modification processes.
Perform functional and operational tests of avionics systems using specialized test equipment to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
Document all maintenance actions, discrepancies, and repairs in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable regulatory and safety standards, including FAA, EASA, and military guidelines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest avionics technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
Participate in on-the-job training and continuous improvement programs to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Provide technical support and guidance to less experienced technicians and apprentices.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in avionics, electronics, or related field preferred.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in avionics maintenance and modification, preferably with Global 6500 or similar aircraft.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting avionics schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with a thorough understanding of avionics systems and components.
Ability to use a variety of test equipment and hand tools effectively and safely.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance as required by the military.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in confined spaces.
