Position Summary:

The Accounts Receivable Representative is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of health insurance claims with various insurance companies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Research authorizations, work with providers, and manage pended claims promptly.
  • Maintain a solid balance of health insurance claims that are 35 average days outstanding.
  • Identify non-payment trends or procedural roadblocks and report same to Supervisor as needed.
  • Prepare special claim projects; maintain project work/communication logs.
  • Use resources effectively, arrange information and files in a useful manner, and meet project deadlines.
  • Compose and prepare documentation for appeals.
  • Process insurance carrier correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
  • Keep current on carrier(s) website information that relates to the practice.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Medical Billing and insurance claim filing experience.
  • Familiarity with medical billing software.
Knowledge, Competencies & Skills:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements for the Job:
  • Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods.
