The Director of Women's Basketball Operations assists the Head Women's Basketball Coach with developing, coordinating, and implementing off court team functions (alumni and community service based); serves as a liaison at home and away games; coordinates team travel itinerary; manages team equipment purchases; maintains and manages film library and exchange; and performs other daily operational duties. This position is also responsible for monitoring the academic progress and disseminating information to students; game day operations duties; and minor marketing activities.

Responsibilities and Duties

Responsibilities for the Director of Women's Basketball Operations position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Plans community service and alumni related events on behalf of the Women's Basketball program
  • Works closely with the Equipment Manager to choose, order, and maintain all program equipment; and works with the Administrative Assistant to order office supplies
  • Plans all aspects of team travel; works closely with the Athletics Department to ensure arrangements are made for buses, flights, hotels, and per diems
  • Responsible for game day operations including working with facilities and opponents on game days to ensure that competition runs smoothly
  • Responsible for scheduling all practices and effectively communicating the team's needs with facilities staff
  • Assists with program marketing
The work hours for this position include weekends, based on game schedule. Travel is required.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • One year of experience at the collegiate level with women's basketball, which can include time as a manager or graduate assistant
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations


Salary and Benefits

$45,000 annually and a contract that offers annual leave, holidays, and sick days. Contractual employees scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage. The position is contingent on funds being available at time of hire.
