Summary
The Senior Proposal Manager will join a growing bid team of proposal managers, technical writers, proposal analysts, and graphic designers. This role works closely with capture managers and subject matter experts (SMEs) to craft proposals for Information Technology (IT) projects. This strategically important position will impact company growth.
The Senior Proposal Manager will lead the development of all proposal components, working closely with business leadership, technical specialists, and other team members. This position requires a collaborative team member who can effectively work across all levels of ValidaTek, gathering information and producing proposals under tight deadlines. The candidate must be able to proactively engage with key stakeholders to ensure that all content is appropriate and created at the highest quality standards, while maintaining complete accuracy and proper handling of sensitive data.
Responsibilities
Independently manage the full lifecycle of RFP analysis, response development, review, and submission through the application of rigorous formal proposal processes and best practices
Analyze documents such as RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs so that client requirements are clearly understood
Contribute to strengthening ValidaTek's winning position during the Capture/Draft RFP phase by working closely with the Capture Manager
Manage and organize assignments and receipt of inputs/materials from a variety of stakeholders, typically executive leadership, business development, marketing, operations, finance, contracts, and quality
Ensure proposal accuracy, consistency, and compliance
Ensure responses that effectively communicate ValidaTek's services, core capabilities, and discriminators
Track and report status of all proposal elements to proposal team, supervisor, and Capture Manager
Anticipate possible trouble areas and work with Capture Manager to provide practical solutions to problems as they arise
Lead/manage/mentor/train less-experienced staff, proposal writers, and editors
Promote company-wide understanding and adherence to the proposal process
Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years' experience as a proposal manager, with concentration on DoD proposals
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
Excellent project management through clear communication, effective leadership, and interpersonal skills
Experience responding to single award contracts, multi-award IDIQs, and task orders
Experience analyzing requests for proposals and creating compliance matrix, compliant outline, schedule, kick-off, storyboards, color reviews, etc.
Experience managing and coordinating activities of large proposal teams that include virtual writers and subcontractors
Experience preparing proposal text, integrate proposal input for multiple sources, and assemble proposal volumes
Ability to edit and proofread written material, and perform quality reviews
Conduct final edit and desktop publishing of proposal volumes
Working knowledge of SharePoint and SharePoint administration highly desirable
May be required to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet deadlines
Must be a US citizen due to nature of the work
Possess strong time management and prioritization skills
Fluency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Exceptional communication and organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
A working knowledge of Shipley proposal processes / Shipley certification is preferred
