About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Community Engagement to serve as the chief fundraising, external affairs, and community liaison officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for all activities related to fundraising in support of students and college operations. This role is pivotal in leading the college's development operations, maximizing philanthropic and community support, and designing a strategic vision for community relations, fundraising, planned giving, real estate initiatives, and alumni relations. The Vice President will also represent the college in external and governmental affairs arenas, and must have the vision and diplomacy to advance the college's goals by harnessing the unique qualities of the diverse population centers it serves.
The ideal candidate for the Vice President for Community Engagement position at the company will be a recognized leader with a proven track record in fundraising, strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills. Experience with real estate matters, board governance, and strategic partnerships are preferred qualifications. The role requires strategic capacity, superior communication skills, and the ability to forge external relationships in support of the institution. The candidate should be able to work with diverse colleagues, students, and community members, and facilitate a work environment that encourages engagement with individuals of different cultures or backgrounds. An academic or nonprofit background, as well as experience with capital campaigns, are also highly valued.
