Functional Analyst responsible for translating the Business requirements of Customer Accounting, Remittance, Credit & Collection, Outreach and Revenue Accounting areas into SAP IS-U FICA components of the SAP Configuration IMG (SAP Implementation Guide). This includes involvement in all aspects of project work, on-going functional enhancements, troubleshooting, software patching and legal changes. Collaborates on all phases of the systems development lifecycle (SDLC) with a focus on the analysis, design, and development of configuration-based solutions. Must continuously maintain and develop the necessary skillsets, both technical and analytical, to enhance value-added business solutions within the IT architecture. Duties and Responsibilities Acts as a subject matter expert in the SAP FICA functional area, developing strong business and system knowledge of the assigned functional area to successfully deliver a range of projects and financial related requests. Works with business unit analysts, EBT resources and other IT technical resources, to design, configure, test and implement solutions to meet changing policy, regulatory and business requirements. Performs configuration to support defined business processes/functions including the timely testing and validation of software patches released by SAP. Troubleshoots incidents reported against IT applications. Assist in investigating issues to determine the root cause of problems. Supports and monitors daily batch processing, responding to job failures in a timely manner. Provides 24X7 primary and/or secondary support to core applications considered business critical. Supports the request and analysis phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Responsible for generating the required documentation throughout the different phases of a project. This includes creating functional specifications and test plans while providing input into project charters, project plans and estimates. Follow established change management procedures to ensure that application modifications are implemented in a way that meets internal IT controls. Provide guidance on financial processing to other team members. Documents configuration processes and procedures for relevant SAP systems through the use of flow charts, screen shots and step-by-step instructions. Coordinates and provides thorough and consistent end-user training on relevant SAP system functionality. May assume the following roles as required: IT liaison for assigned functional team responsible for status, assignments, and release planning. Manage applicable third-party vendor relationships to ensure ongoing interface and product support. Keep apprised of current trends in the business marketplace with a focus on product and service development, delivery, and support, and applying key technologies. Provides input and direction on business unit technology strategies. Perform other duties as requested. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Possess strong analytical skills, which allows for the assessment of business processes and how they guide and shape application functionality. Possess competency to comprehend technical design specifications, work with SAP tables, SAP queries, mass update scripts and SAP debugging. Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills. Frequently presents information to their team, department, and business areas. Understands project plans and is able to clearly articulate their role, project goals, and timelines. Develops project plans for small projects; partners with Project Managers to develop project plans for large projects and assists Manager with resource management. Working knowledge of COBIT5 based IT Governance and Management framework or other structured industry standard methodologies. Stays current with IT industry trends and emerging technologies; suggests and leads application of new technologies. Drives business process improvement by the identification of value-added enhancements. Education and Experience Bachelors degree in Information/Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent discipline. An Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent discipline plus seven (7) years of related SAP configuration experience may be substituted for a Bachelors degree. Required: Six (6) or more years of functional SAP experience. Comprised of at least four (4) years of experience with SAP Utilities (IS-U / CR&B) configuration and at least two (2) years of experience supporting applications, systems or business processes with analysis, design and/or improvement focus on the following component: SAP IS-U FICA Preferred: Six (6) or more years of functional SAP IS-U experience in SAP IS-U FICA. ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) Foundation certification (at hire or within 12 months in position).
