Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years
Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for2 years

Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email

Weekend Requirement - RN's The weekend rotation is usually 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks
Weekend Requirement - CST's (same as RN's)
Call Requirement - RN's Call is usually about 3-4 call shifts/month. If it's your turn to take weekend call, Fri/Sat/Sun would count as 3 call shifts for the month. Manager said that they don't get called out that much. Most of their call time tends to be at the end of the day & rarely goes past 7 pm. If someone has to stay late, it is usually at the end of the day. This could happen maybe twice/week on their heavy ortho days. For example, they only had 1 case on the weekend the entire month of February. They rarely get called. Call is very easy here. Call shifts are 7a-7p Mon-Fri. 24 hours Sat and Sun. The weekends are rotated with a weekend call every 7-8 weeks (approximately). On average four to five 12-hour call shifts and one weekend in an eight week period.

What is call response time? 30 minute response time - but must be dressed & ready to work within 30 minutes.

Shifts Staff works 4, 10's/week. The OR is open M-F 645 - 5:15. Closed on holidays & weekends except for call.
Floating Not for travelers; however, if there was the opportunity & it was within their scope they would allow this (Example: vaccine clinic, etc.)
Floor specific orientation 3 shifts with a preceptor in the department after general hospital orientation
Common types of cases They have a very robust total joint program. A lot of total joints - hip, knees, shoulders, ROSA robot (run by Reps), a lot of sports medicine, arthroscopies, non-complicated fractures, some IM nails, ORIF ankles, wrists, ACL repairs, just started doing carpal tunnel w/ micro-knife. They are very innovative - good equipment & resources. A lot of eyes: cataracts. A lot of general cases - the biggest they do are bowel resections. A lot of scopes (40%), EGDs, gallbladder, appy's, breast biopsies, mastectomies...They have 3 general surgeons, OBGYN - C-sections, Hysterectomies (usually go home), Urology: kidney stones, plastics (breast reductions/implants, surgeon is a hand specialist, lacerations, dog-bites), ENT- not w/ WVU but comes every-other-months (tonsils, sinuses, tubes, etc. No complicated fractures are sent out to higher trauma level

Additional Notes "They are very traveler friendly - People are often extended. The manager is very focused on this department being a great place to work.
