We are currently seeking a Data Analyst II to join our IT team located in Sterling, VA.
The Data Analyst II will be responsible for collecting, processing and analyzing data to extract insights and support decision -making.
Responsibilities will include:
- Work in two-week sprints on full project lifecycles with a team of eight data professionals
- Attend team meetings and collaborate with management on project planning/revisions
- Create data pipelines: set up data flows, become subject matter expert, write R/Python/SQL code for cleaning, standardizing, creating SQL tables/procedures for automated data refreshes with email notifications
- Write code for aggregated datasets to feed BI dashboards
- Adapt code to enable regular refreshes of aggregated datasets
- Create pipelines to push aggregated data to data warehouse
- Create BI dashboards following defined conventions
- Write and maintain project documentation and user guides
- Present dashboards to leadership/users and gather feedback
- Adapt aggregated datasets and dashboards based on feedback
- Monitor dashboard integrity regularly
- Communicate via Slack, Zoom, and email
- Engage in brainstorming, idea sharing, and continuous learning
- Think innovatively and enjoy challenges
- Collaborate enthusiastically to learn and share concepts
- Excited to work with health and operations data for incarcerated population
- Willing to train healthcare staff onsite occasionally
- Fluent in at least two of R, SQL, Python (no ChatGPT generated code)
- Proficient in creating BI dashboards with multiple sources, calculated fields, parameters
- Willingness to learn new languages/tools as needed
