Job Details: Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer Location: Remote Duration: Long Term Contract/Permanent
Cloud Engineer with technical knowledge and experience in AWS solutions and technologies. Strong understanding of cloud-based application architecture using microservice API containerization and serverless technologies leveraging native cloud services. Experience with AWS OpenSearch preferred or other applicable search services.
Responsibilities:
Provide an overall Solution Architecture that is scalable, secured and cost effective for a cloud-based Search Engine to search across documents.
Must have the ability to provide a firm, clear perspective of cloud solution to business/key stakeholders, and also ensure recommended cloud solutions are secure, resilient, cost-efficient, and managed with operational excellence.
Walkthrough the solution details with the development team, engage with them in design, development and all aspects of the SDLC.
Implement a Proof of Concept (POC) in alignment to the solution. Time to time explore various POCs to solve the business problems.
Perform design, code and code coverage reviews.
As needed, contribute to coding/development.
Work closely with the customer's security group from early stages and take the system through the ATO process.
Work closely with the Program Manager, key stakeholders, development team and the technical resources from the corporate HQ to ensure the overall success of the program.
Familiar with designing and implementing automated DevSecOps architecture and CI/CD pipelines in AWS application for release management of development efforts and on-going production operations.
Support and contribute to business security requirements, and make sure the overall solution and implementation meets Federal civilian agency security and compliance requirements.
Provide thought leadership on cloud platform technology use, design, and implementation.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate sophisticated topics in simple and accessible language.
Transparent in nature for business updates & communications to share best practices and industry point of view to bring new ideas.
Participate in daily standup, refinements, demos and other ceremonies as part of a dynamic Agile Team.
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant degree is required.
10+ years of Development experience, 5+ years of Solution Architecture experience, and 4+ years of Solution Architecture experience in AWS
Hands-on experience with .Net, Angular, ReactJS, Container/Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Web Services (REST and SOAP) and other applicable Tech stack in .Net Platform
Hands-on experience using compute, networking, storage, and database specific AWS services. Specially following AWS services are must- AWS OpenSearch, EKS, Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose, Amazon Comprehend, RDS, S3, API Gateway, Lambda, Cloud Watch, ELK, and IAM.
Strong understanding of architectural design patterns and how to apply them in the most practical manner into an overall solution design in AWS Cloud.
Design experience with AWS services, .Net Tech stack and deployment experience in AWS
Experience in providing scalable solutions and experience in performance tuning of applications
Experience with Federal civilian agency security requirements including but not limited to FIPS 199, and NIST SP 800-53
Experience in ATO process
Experience in TDD, writing unit tests and guiding teams in TDD, and code coverage
Experience in developing DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline in AWS meeting high availability, performance, security and scalability criteria.
Must have familiarity with WebHooks, REST API, JSON, XML, SMTP and SQL Query.
Strong understanding of security tools like Sonarqube, Micro Focus Fortify, with a focus on automating security and compliance best practices in a DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline.
Strong knowledge of API design principles and experience in designing solutions as part of a Services-Oriented-Architecture (SOA), Microservices and event driven architectures for high-availability web applications.
Strong understanding of cloud-ready architectures that utilize SaaS and PaaS cloud models.
Experience working in an Agile (e.g., Scrum, SAFE frameworks etc.) SDLC model using DevSecOps best practices.
Strong Analytical and Communication skills.
Desired Skills:
Good to have exposure to following AWS services - VPC, subnets, EC2, Amazon SageMaker, AWS Amplify, and AWS KMS
Knowledge of AI/Client, neural net/deep learning, NLP either in the search space or in other domains
Familiarity with cross-platform scripting languages and build tools (Python, Artifactory, Groovy, Maven, MS Build, Nexus, NuGet).
Familiarity with OCR and associated frameworks
Familiarity with AWS services to search for texts in video and audio files
Familiarity with Dev, Build and Deploy tools such as Visual Studio, Cucumber, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Helm, webpack, Confluence, specflow, unit.net and argo preferred.
Certifications:
Active AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate or Professional
