Role and Responsibilities:

As a SQL DBA Administrator, your work will ensure today's security and contribute to a smarter future. Your responsibilities include managing SQL Server databases supporting COTS applications and working alongside a team of systems administrators managing Windows Server 2016-2019, desktops, and printers. Key tasks include:

Database Management:

• Operations and maintenance of SQL Server databases.
• Design, planning, and implementation of new databases.
• Database creation, security, access, backup and recovery, and documentation.
• Application of STIGs to SQL Server databases.
• Database monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and tuning.
• Administration of Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2019 and SQL Reporting Services.
• SQL Always-on setup and management, Microsoft Failover Clustering.
• SSIS and PowerBI Reporting Server Administration.
• Database backup and recovery procedures.

Database Creation:

• Analysis and implementation of database solutions.
• Definition, design, creation, and implementation of database environments.

Systems Administration:

• Evaluation and installation of software releases, patches, and upgrades.
• System issue troubleshooting.
• Development and application of systems backup and recovery procedures.
• Programming in administrative languages (PowerShell, VBS).
• ACAS and SCAP scans and remediation.
• Assistance with Tier 2 help desk issues.
• User account creation and management in Active Directory.

Security and Documentation:

• Support for Certification and Accreditation processes.
• Database security policy documentation and implementation.
• Compliance with DISA STIG requirements.
• Creation of all required documentation for Release Management Framework (RMF).
• Comprehensive planning and documentation for new integrations or implementations.

Qualifications:

Education:

• BS degree or equivalent experience.
• Security+ CE certification required before hire.

Experience:

• 5+ years administering MS SQL Server databases (SQL 2012 or newer).
• Experience with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and SSL encryption in SQL Server.
• Experience with SQL Server 2016-2019.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Server 2016 or higher.
• High Availability of SQL Cluster.
• Familiarity with Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and SSL encryption.

Security Clearance:

• Secret clearance required, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Preferred Skills:

• Additional expertise with Microsoft SQL 2012-2019.
• Advanced knowledge in High Availability of SQL Cluster setups.
