Description

Straughan is currently seeking a Noise Analyst/Engineer to join our Environmental Planning Team. Your skills and knowledge of applicable concepts would support studies and design in the areas of noise and air quality. Please note that to be considered for this role you Must have a minimum of 1- year of professional highway noise experience.

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform work in the areas of traffic noise analysis, rail noise analysis, construction noise analysis, noise barrier design, sound monitoring, vibration analysis, and/or air quality analysis.
  • Collecting field data collection and data processing.
  • Utilizing noise modeling software.
  • Conducting noise impact analysis.
  • Supporting tasks and services would include report preparation, CADD & GIS usage, noise modeling, analysis, and/or environmental planning and permitting support.
  • Additional tasks may support NEPA projects.


Mandatory Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-year of professional highway noise experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (Microsoft/Excel).
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Experience using CADD.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.


Desired Qualifications
  • Relevant background in Acoustical Analysis, Noise Abatement Design, Air Quality, Traffic Analysis, Site Design, Roadway Design, and/or Rail Noise.
  • Experience with MicroStation.
  • Noise analysis experience with the Maryland Department of Transportation.
  • General transportation related planning or NEPA experience.

  • Conduct field work and carry related equipment required to the site/area.
  • Travel to field locations, as required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license.
