The role

Responsible for the implementation of soundboard/papermaking and converting practices through process control, product development, quality control, and supervision of related personnel. This role will provide technical support to both internal and external customers.

How you ll make an impact

• Create, coordinate, and establish quality specifications for products and processes, ensuring they meet customer and regulatory requirements.
• Supervise, develop, and mentor engineers; establish quality specifications for products; plan and conduct production trials, and provide post-run analysis.
• Oversee environmental compliance programs and reporting, ensuring adherence to all regulatory policies, and maintain ISO 14001 certification.
• Recruit and train technical staff; support continuous improvement and lean activities to enhance operational efficiencies.
• Assist in troubleshooting and maintaining board/paper and converting machine processes.

What do you bring

• Bachelor s degree in Paper Science and Engineering or Chemical Engineering
• 10 - 15 years experience in board/paper manufacturing setting or related field desired.
• Effectively utilize computer-based applications including Microsoft Office, MiniTab, and data collection software.
• 6 Sigma/Lean manufacturing knowledge
• Experience managing multiple departments in a continuous process mill/facility
