Position Summary, Job Requirements & Responsibilities:

As an Associate Software Test Engineer, you will mainly participate in the verification aspects of the software development and operations lifecycles which include requirements gathering, test planning, test case creation, testing estimations, verification documentation, deployment support and training to end users (internal or external). As a member working in a team environment, you will take direction from the Engineering Director, program managers, scrum master and/or integrated product engineering leads for your activities.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the requirements gathering phases to start planning test cases.
  • Support creation of a test strategy for end-to-end systems tests with multiple integration points.
  • Conduct both Manual and Automation test efforts.
  • Follow Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies to keep track of Requirements and verification efforts
  • Collaborate with a team with resources in multiple locations spread over multiple regions.
  • Ability to oversee complex projects with testing spanning multiple projects and applications.
  • Aggressively drive the projects to closure ensuring the project commitments are met.
  • Help the team in removing blockers and be an escalation point for all matters related to testing.
  • Identify development issues to environments and support bringing issues to a quick closure.
  • Review testing artifacts produced by other team members to check for accuracy and aid in distribution and review of the artifacts with Product Owners to obtain the testing signoff.
  • Monitor all verification activities including test results, leaked defects, root cause analysis, identify areas of improvement and implement steps required to improve the process.
  • Create User Guides, conduct end-user training and support initial operational launch efforts through the knowledge/understanding of the new software system features.


Experience & Education Requirements / EEO:

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field.
  • Knowledge and experience of Automation Tools & Frameworks.
  • Developing Python scripts and using pytest library and related plugin modules.
  • Experience using SQL to generate data analysis for data quality verification reports.
  • Experience in End-to-End/UAT Testing.
  • Proven people and team management skills including experience with working in a remote/hybrid environment
  • Excellent written communication and oral communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience using Playwright for UI test automation.
  • Ability to track testing progress of projects and take corrective actions for projects deviating from plan.
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and experience in Test Automation, Testing Methodologies, Testing Processes, Tools, and Techniques.
  • Experience with End to End/UAT testing efforts for complex applications
  • Proven people and team management skills including experience with working in a remote/hybrid environment.
  • Excellent written communication and oral communication skills
  • Experience in Aviation Industry.

1-3-6-12 Month Plan

In the first month well expect you to

  • Get onboarded and train with your manager
  • Get acclimated into the role
  • Understand the tools and different stakeholders
  • Understand the current software verification process
  • Start defining annual goals, test plans and cases

At 3 months well expect you to

  • Understand ongoing project system requirements
  • Define Test Plans and Test Cases as needed
  • Execute Test Cases
  • Identify test automation opportunities

At 6 months well expect you to

  • Get involved on new software products requirement phases
  • Establish test cases for each new software product and feature
  • Create User Guides for user training as needed
  • Onboard new staff members
  • Execute Test Cases

At 12 months well expect you to

  • Support Test Manager on requirements and testing process improvements
  • Continue supporting new and ongoing projects during requirements gathering and testing phases
  • Participate on process improvement boards/initiatives

About the Team

  • Requirements and Testing team of 4+ people working with a development team of 15+ distributed across North America and 3 different timezones.
  • Using Agile methodology and tools (daily scrums, 3-week sprints)
  • Mostly using Azure DevOps and Microsoft Office tools for collaboration and communication
