Minimum requirements of this posting are written at the lower grade. Increased requirements/expectations are at the higher grade.Interconnection Services Coordinator Principal (grade 8)Interconnection Services Coordinator Sr. (grade 7) = associate's/bachelor's degree + six (6) years of experienceESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Makes contract and study facilitation decisions based on calculated risks with minimal management review.Identifies, recommends to leadership and initiates solutions to highly complex interconnection problems that are unique to AEP and the electric utility industry and that also require specialized knowledge of interconnection/agreement/study process and/or problem-solving techniques.Develops, recommends and implements plans that include all contract/performance/study scheduling, resource and cost information/control required to address complex problems that require input and efforts of a wide array of entities both internal and external to AEP.Acts as a liason to organizational unit activities on specific areas of contract/performance/study/project work/RTO billing/accounting activities.Leads project development activities related to specific, unique, and/or highly specialized interconnection areas.Facilitates and coordinates work activities of others within the work group, team or those located externally to AEP and assumes the role of a project or function manager for assigned tasks.Partner with employees and management in identifying and analyzing business, performance and learning needs, problems or expectations.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited university or college or an associate's technical degree and 6 years of experience in design, operations, planning, construction or maintenance of systems and/or equipment.OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Procurement system management of engineering contracts for study reports on behalf of Grid Solutions, work order management, work order release system knowledge preferred.Knowledge of ERCOT, SPP and PJM processes, systems and tariffs preferred.Knowledge of AEP system applications to procure, project manage statement of work applications, and open/close authorization approvals.Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Listen and identify customer needs/wants. Effectively communicate with team, management, customers, contractors, vendors and regulatory agencies.Knowledge of AEP's general terms and conditions and the experience and ability to correctly interpret and administer contracts.Apply problem solving skills to resolve problems and initiate solution techniques.Demonstrate an ability to interface and work well with different levels of individual contributors and management is required.Experience in business unit operations and business acumen strongly preferred.Understanding of business unit financial and operations systems and databases preferred.Is proactive in responsibilities and does not wait for direction from management to conduct work.Position may require extended hours to accomplish assigned tasks and meet project requirements and schedules.Demonstrate the highest standards of ethical behavior and support the Company's Corporate Compliance Policy.INITIAL POSITION / BASE SALARY FUNDING: ($83,413 - $122,491).
