Sughrue Mion, PLLC, a leading Intellectual Property law firm located in Washington, DC is seeking an Patent Prosecution Specialist. This position will facilitate communications and management of patent applications with a large technology company client using their proprietary internet portal.

Essential Functions:

• Assist attorneys and patent agents with patent applications relating to various technologies and sciences.
• Conduct legal and scientific research on various issues as the firm needs.
• Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with filing patent applications and responses to office actions
• Manage databases of patent application files
• Ability to read and understand Chinese language is a plus, but not required.

Education & Experience:

• College degree
• 0-1 years of either secretarial or paralegal experience with patent applications is a plus, but not required

Technical Skill Requirements:

• Excellent computer skills required

This position is located in the Washington, DC office which currently operates in a Hybrid mode with in-office and remote options available.
