The Product Manager is responsible for translating business strategy into product strategy for AAMC.org and related web properties. The Product Manager ensures our products and services successfully and efficiently meet internal expectations and business goals, as well as end-user needs and expectations. Incumbent will work internal partners and clients to define the overarching vision for products and services on AAMC.org, create a plan for the path toward that vision, gather requirements, and manage the execution of the project, including ongoing maintenance and iteration. Incumbent will also be responsible for strategy, consultation, and maintenance of the AAMC.org product roadmap.

How will you make an impact?

Product Management

  • Lead and collaborate with team members from across the organization to conceptualize, define, develop, launch, and iterate on products and features.
  • Define product requirements, documenting and communicating requirements as needed with involved teams and stakeholders.
  • Effectively communicate with and manage expectations for stakeholders, partners, colleagues, and clients.
  • Recommend product enhancements to support overarching business needs.
  • Identify, vet, and manage external vendors and 3rd party platforms and integrations, as needed
Product Visioning and Roadmapping
  • Advise on, and provide strategy for, the overarching AAMC.org product roadmap by conducting appropriate research and analysis, defining major milestones, and collaborating with multiple departments and stakeholders to successfully execute the roadmap.
  • Define and drive planning for iterative product releases.
  • Provide insight, analysis, and consultation on the product and landscape to AAMC stakeholders, as needed.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tools, systems, and vendors to support AAMC web goals.
Partner Collaboration
  • Support, educate, and coach partners and clients on product functionality and use, as well as general digital product knowledge as needed, and produce, and contribute to, documentation, communication, and the enforcing of product management best practices standards, policies, and procedures
Other duties as assigned
  • Complete additional duties relevant to product management of AAMC.org and its related web properties, as assigned
What you'll bring to the role
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, web design or development, related fields - or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience serving as a product manager of websites and similar online properties, which includes the following must haves:
  • Demonstrable track record of successful product strategy, management, and innovation.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the capabilities and limitations of web technologies and the digital landscape.
  • Familiarity with Agile work management.
  • The ability to effectively communicate complex processes within and across teams.
  • Experience at a digital agency, or with varied products and their business and production teams is a plus.
  • Familiarity with healthcare institutions and professionals, higher education, or medical schools is a plus.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
  • Strong skills in project leadership, project management, critical thinking and problem-solving, partnership and collaboration, and data analytics and metrics.


Remote Work Eligibility

This position is eligible for remote work in the contiguous US

Compensation Grade Range and Mid-Point
Grade Range:$113,200.00 - $210,200.00/ Grade Mid-Point:$161,700.00

The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.

If a bachelor's degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
