Position/Title:Director of Sales

Position Summary:

The Director of Sales is responsible for leading and managing the sales team to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets for company. The Director of Sales plays a key role in developing and executing sales strategies for our foodservice products, programs, and services. The Sales Director s leadership is instrumental in fostering a high-performance sales culture and ensuring the sales associates are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to succeed. The Sales Director must be a strong communicator who can coach, develop, and retain talent.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales associates to achieve individual and collective sales goals.
  • Develop strategic annual sales plan aligned with executive management objectives, and market trends.
  • Conduct frequent field visits with sales associates to provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to forecast sales projections and develop strategic sales plans including pricing strategy and margin results tracking.
  • Manage the sales budget effectively, allocating resources to maximize ROI and achieve sales targets.
  • Monitor competitor activity and industry trends to identify opportunities and threats in the market.
  • Establish sales targets, track performance metrics, and implement initiatives to optimize sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other department leaders; sales support, purchasing, category management, and operations, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with street accounts, conducting business reviews to better understand their needs and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Representing company at trade association meetings to promote company products and services.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Preferably a four-year degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or related field
  • 7-10 years of sales experience in an executive-level position such as a Sales Manager, Sales Director.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations
  • Leadership skills and the ability to mentor and coach sales associates
  • Ability to travel and a clean driving record
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point & Outlook
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work independently
