AVTEC Technician

Job description

The AVTEC Integration Tech is tasked with integrating systems into complex customer operational environments and interfacing with customers via telephone and in person to analyze and resolve technically complex problems. The key responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Prepare and configure Scout for integration into complex customer systems.
  • Complete integration, commissioning, and testing of Scout in complex customer systems.
  • Able to connect IP endpoints (talkgroups) from MOTOTRBO systems to Avtec
  • Knowledge of land mobile radio dispatch or public safety radio dispatch centers
  • Prepares and configures Scout for integration into complex customer systems
  • Completes integration, commissioning, and testing of Scout in complex customer systems
  • Determines the most cost-effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime
  • Enters and tracks issues in a tracking database, keeping customers apprised of work status, and drives all issues to closure
  • Relays detailed instructions to customers and interprets technical documents
  • Provides after-schedule support on an as-needed basis
  • Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system


DELIVERABLES

  • Avtec Scout integrated, commissioned, and tested in customer systems
  • Cost-effective issue resolutions to minimize customer downtime
  • Detailed customer communications on issue status and resolutions
  • Coordinated subsystem designs and total system integration
  • Problems clarified, corrected, and improved through cross-functional collaboration
  • Ongoing systems-level development and testing as needed
  • Documentation for complex LMR-ROIP-Avtec technical configurations


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Full complement of AVTEC training, including the Scout 300 level course.
  • Attend AVTEC s annual refresher course.
  • Certified in building screens in Avtec Scout consoles


DESIRED:

  • Familiarity with SalesForce software and sales tools to track activities, manage leads, and generate reports.
  • Understanding of Public Safety Radio systems is preferred. Understanding of Public Safety
  • Communications Systems, including familiarity with technologies such as land mobile radio (LMR),
  • Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), wireless broadband (5g), and interoperability solutions.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills, with the ability to overcome objections and turn prospects into loyal customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bending, crawling, stooping, standing, vision, lifting, walking, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility
