Job Title: P&C Actuary

Location: On-site in Richmond, VA office

Position Overview

Richmond National is now seeking an Actuary to join our growing team. We are a specialty P&C carrier with a people-first and tech-forward approach which makes us a standout in the industry. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the expansion of the company s actuarial department.

The Actuary will report directly to the Chief Actuarial Officer and help make impactful decisions that shape the future of our company. The ideal candidate will have P&C actuarial experience and be in pursuit of or hold the ACAS designation.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing product line analyses of rates and results.
• Pricing and reserving for product lines.
• Rate change monitoring.
• Programming to automate actuarial and data-related tasks.
• Data-sharing with executive team and staff underwriters.
• Work cross-functionally to aid in the development of internal tools and products.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from product line and executive leaders.
• Other actuarial work as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or related subjects.
• ACAS designation or very close to obtaining ACAS.
• Property & casualty experience required. Excess & surplus lines experience is a plus.
• Python programming skills a plus.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical ability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
