Transportation Manager

Job description

The transportation manager is responsible for providing the overall strategic management of the transportation department which includes the operation of the Resort's Valet Operation. The candidate should be decisive and well-organized. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations of parking services, ensuring a smooth and efficient process to both the internal and external customer. This role involves coordinating the activities of valet attendants, managing customer interactions, and ensuring the safety and security of vehicles, with a focus on providing exceptional service. The Transportation Manager works to enhance the overall customer experience, addressing any concerns and implementing strategies for operational improvement. Balancing logistical challenges with customer service demands, this position plays an integral role in maintaining the reputation and efficiency of parking services as well as managing the fleet operations at The Rose Gaming Resort.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make The Rose Gaming Resort their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members.
  • Provides superior gust service, positively affects interactions with guests and employees, and has the resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and interact with different teams and co-workers.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the valet parking service, ensuring efficient vehicle storage and retrieval.
  • Train valet staff on proper parking techniques, customer service protocols, and safety procedures.
  • Manage financial transactions related to valet services, including cash handling, issuing receipts, and preparing daily revenue reports.
  • Coordinate with event planners and venue managers to provide valet services for special events, including staffing and logistics planning.
  • Implement and enforce parking lot safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure the security of vehicles.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues related to vehicle damage, lost items, or dissatisfaction with service.
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote valet services to potential clients and increase business revenue.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on valet equipment, such as tracking software, gate arms, camera booth, key control board, and signage, to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Coordinating vehicle flow and maximizing space usage to ensure quick access and safe storage while preventing bottlenecks and enhancing the customer experience.
  • Overseeing the daily maintenance of vehicles in the fleet
  • Conducting vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Assigning and tracking vehicle repair and maintenance.
  • Monitoring driver qualifications and training.
  • Inspecting loads and preventing overloading.
  • Keeping and transmitting complete and accurate records for state, federal, and other regulatory requirements with regards to company vehicles, insurance, and liability coverages.
  • Scheduling and training direct reports in the operational standards of company expectations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.


REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the other duties described herein, each Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Attend the required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Obtain and retain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gaming.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.


EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) years' work experience within a valet, transportation and/or hospitality industry including two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Virginia Driver's License.
  • Must be able to successfully pass background check and drug screening.
  • Must be 21 years of age.


Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License

Valid Driver's License with a minimum of three (3) years driving experience.
