REGISTERED NURSE FAMILY PRACTICE

Site Of Service

  • 88th Medical Group, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio
  • HCWs shall receive notification two weeks prior to the reassignment to another location with a 40-mile commuting radius of their assigned MTF


Position Qualification/Requirements

  • Degree: HCW must have graduated from an associate degree (ADN) or a Baccalaureate
  • Degree (BSN) program in nursing accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. BSN is highly desired.
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in total.
  • Full time experience of at least 24 months within the last 60 months in an Adult Primary Care Outpatient clinic setting.
  • Medical Surgical nursing experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of professional care theories, principles, practices, and procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adults, obstetrics, and geriatric patients, as appropriate.
  • Utilizes the nursing process as a basis for professional practice.
  • Knowledge of wide range of medical disorders/conditions and disease processes across the lifespan, as appropriate
  • Knowledge of preventive health schedules, procedures, processes and education methods.
  • Knowledge of disease management and population health principles.
  • Knowledge of variety of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, the desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use, as well as, the accurate administration of the pharmacologic agent, including dosage calculations as required.
  • Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient conditions including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching and follow up care.
  • Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in use of basic word processing, data entry and electronic medical records.
  • Strongly preferred working knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits.
  • Excellent oral communication skills for patient/family education and telephone triage.
  • Excellent written communication skills to perform accurate documentation, both written and electronic, of all activity, including telephone contacts, securing messaging and procedures/treatments in accordance with requirements
  • Licensure:
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required. In addition, must maintain a valid, unrestricted, and current registered.
  • Nurse license with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions.
  • In a state or territory of the United States or District of Columbia.
  • If the HCW is licensed in a state with no continuing nursing education requirement, the HCW will accomplish an equivalent of 12 contact hours for each year of their license renewal period and participate in continuing education programs to update and/or maintain skills and knowledge to meet annual requirements. (Hours unbillable to the Government).
  • Certifications: BLS through American Heart Association. Must be hands on course.
  • U.S. Citizenship: HCWs performing under this contract shall be U.S. citizens.
  • Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to effectively communicate.
  • Shall be physically capable of standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time and physically capable of performing all services required.


Hours

  • The performance hours of the MTF are as follows:
  • The Family Medicine Clinic is open M-F 0730-1630 hours.
  • Schedules are posted 1 month in advance.

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. Flexible and able to work with various personalities. Teamwork skills required. Time management skills required. The ability to meet deadlines in a deadline intensive environment is essential. High level of adaptability and willingness to embrace change in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
