**Job Summary**


Regulated Infrastructure Development is responsible for acquiring and developing new grid generation resources, including regulated renewables, natural gas generation and other emerging grid resource options such as energy storage.. The role includes working on RFP design, evaluation techniques and form contracts to attract and obtain the best resources for the regulated operating companies and its customers. Responsibilities include organizing due diligence on projects and support in negotiation of acquisition agreements, power purchase agreements and capacity agreements. Enhance company value through implementing processes, managing processes associated with multi-disciplinary groups (i.e. engineering, projects, regulatory, legal, accounting, tax, finance, commercial operations, innovation and technology) in meeting strategic requirements and goals. Drive execution of AEPs regulated generation transformation plan.


**Job Description**


**ORGANIZATION** **: Regulated Infrastructure Development - New Generation Development & Analysis**


**DEPARTMENT** **: Renewable Energy**


Two (2) positions will be filled from this candidate pool.


**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**


- Manage resources necessary to identify, solicit via request for proposals (RFP) and pursue generation asset investment opportunities including analysis, due diligence, screening and the direct negotiation / execution of definitive asset and power purchase agreements. An extremely important component of this work stream is the management of team members, including other Company-wide subject matter experts and 3rd Party consultants, in pursuit of successful transactions.


- Lead or support complex high value ($10 M - $500 M) contract negotiations associated with adding new generation resources. Duties also include responsibility for the negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements.


- Working within the outline of the IRP and ongoing management goals, develop and structure associated Request for Proposals (RFP).


- Manage the RFP process, including development of RFP content and format of the operating companys RFP web page, managing the Q&A process, receipt of proposals, processing of proposals, distribution of proposal data to internal subject matter experts for due diligence, summarizing of proposal data, and implementation of quality control processes.


- Support the OPCO regulatory approval process for related generation transactions, including acting as a subject matter expert (SME) by providing written and/or oral testimony and participating in hearings, as required.


- Facilitate communication and issue resolution between AEPs corporate departments, external parties and project operations managers.


- Participate in the development of each of the regulated operating companys Integrated Resource Plans (IRP) by providing necessary information to support AEPs regulated generation transformation goals and regulatory approval of same.


- Promote a cooperative working environment with an emphasis on safety, good utility practice, and innovation.


- Consult and provide input to key stakeholders regarding due diligence, analysis, strategic decisions and regulatory matters.


- Prepare and/or assist in the preparation of internal and external presentations

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


**Education: Bachelors degree** in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a relevant field. Graduate degree is a plus.


**Experience: Seven (7) years experience** with an electric utility or energy marketing firm, with at least two (2) years of experience in a commercial role.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point); Strong organizational, time management, and writing skills; Inquisitive and problem solving nature coupled with the ability to clearly articulate impacts of risks; Ability to communicate in effective, concise, and persuasive ways; Ability to work professionally with customers, contractors, and development partners; Ability to travel as needed to engage in development opportunities.


**_INITIAL POSITION / BASE SALARY FUNDING: ($129,963 - $168,954). In addition to base salary, AEP offers competitive Total Rewards including: discretionary annual and long-term incentives, 401(k), pension, health insurance, vacation, etc._**
