Branch Operations Manager

Job description

Our Branch Operations Manager oversees all branch operations for 11 Branches within the Mid-Atlantic region including Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and Indiana. Our Success is based on the exceptional service we provide through our Branches. Customers can walk-in, call or email us with their product need. Our Customer Service, Warehouse and Delivery teams are there to go above and beyond to get our customers the product they need when they need it.


This position is remote, with roughly 70% travel to branch locations. The successful candidate must reside near a branch location, preferably Dayton, OH or Columbus, OH. Other branch locations could include Cincinnati, OH, Lima, OH, Toledo, OH, Corbin, KY, Lexington, KY, Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN, or Huntington, WV.

Job Responsibilities:

Customer Experience

  • Establishing and leading a culture emphasized on Customer Service. The 2J Way is our guiding principle that has supported our nearly 60 years of growth. Training, supporting and modeling the 2J Way is critical component of 2J s continued success.
  • Works closely with the Sales Manager and Marketing to identify operational capacity, potential sales opportunities and improving our cost to serve.

Employee Experience

  • Manages 10+ direct reports.
  • Identify current and future talent needs and development opportunities, supporting a culture emphasizing the Employee Experience
  • Provides clear expectations and visible leadership to our branch locations
  • Actively coaches and mentors future leaders
  • Leads employee engagement activities, actively seeks feedback and owns action items to support employee retention and communication
  • Leads change management efforts to support ongoing adoption of change. Works closely with other leaders to support change management efforts.

Branch Operations

  • Assesses warehouse and delivery operations and develops strategies that supports the most efficient footprint and customer delivery model
  • Defines, communicates and establishes accountability for KPI s that measure and delivers results
  • Develops and implements standard operating procedures
  • Collaborates on annual P&L budgets and ongoing monitoring, providing guidance and leadership to support required results
  • Review, assess and implement appropriate system tools to support the operations

Project Management

  • Lead and implement business projects across multi-functional teams

Safety

  • Lead and support a Safety Culture across the organization
  • In partnership with the HR team, ensures appropriate training, compliance and safety requirements are met


Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • 5+ years combined experience in distribution, focused on customer service, logistics and warehousing
  • 5+ years of leading teams in a multi-site environment
  • Experience with financial budgeting and managing a P&L
  • Project Management Experience
  • Clean driving record
  • Ability to travel 70% to our Branch locations with some occasional overnight stays.
  • Experience in a Lean Environment, leading Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Strategic Planning
  • Effective communication and facilitation skills
  • Data Analysis & Problem Solving
  • Ability to Influence and act with a high sense of urgency and prioritization.
  • Six Sigma Designation Preferred
