Chesapeake Search Partners is looking for an experienced accountant who will oversee several entities within our clients portfolio, including regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation alongside the business unit President, and ensure core internal control policies and procedures are followed by the business and the accounting staff.

Responsibilities include:

• Support month end close procedures, including revenue recognition, accruals.
• Assist with annual audit, where necessary.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Support data requests from operational and financial leaders.
• Additional controller duties as assigned.

Required skills and experience:

• 5+ years of full cycle accounting experience.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• SAGE experience required
• Ability to lead a small accounting team.
• Ability to work independently but also take direction from the home office VP of Accounting.
• Knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting is required.
