Senior Litigation Attorney

Job description

We are working with the Columbus, Ohio, office of a top multistate law firm on a search for a senior commercial litigation attorney with at least seven years of experience to join its highly ranked litigation group. The hired attorney will work in the firm s Columbus office and collaborate with its litigation team throughout the firm. A book of business is not required for this role.

This firm is a destination for top lateral talent because of its reasonable billable hour requirement combined with a highly competitive compensation structure.

As an attorney in this group, you will work on a wide range of litigation issues that include construction, business disputes, complex commercial litigation, issues related to the aviation industry, insurance coverage/recovery, financial services, energy, utilities, healthcare, and real estate.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducting legal research and analysis to develop case strategies and identify potential legal issues.
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents for filing in state and federal courts.
  • Collaborating with partners, associates, and support staff to effectively manage caseloads and meet deadlines.
  • Participating in client meetings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Providing high-quality legal advice and advocacy to clients, with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes and protecting their interests.
  • Trials and alternative dispute resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Admission to the Ohio Bar (or eligible for admission upon hiring).
  • Minimum of seven years of experience practicing commercial litigation in a law firm setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate persuasively on behalf of clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional client service and delivering results.
