Position Overview:

  • Responsible for performing a wide range of Magnetic-Resonance Imaging, equipment operations and related duties.

Location:

  • Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center located in vibrant, Baltimore, MD.

Schedule:

  • 3:30PM - 11:30PM (with the possibility of rotating to day shifts).
  • 7:00AM - 3:30PM.
  • Weekends as needed.

Pay Rate:

  • $50.00-$54.00 per hour (Based on location and experience).

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the daily operation of the MRI scanner.
  • Consistently produces MRI images suitable for research purposes.
  • Schedules research participants, animals, and/or protocols for MRI procedures to be performed.
  • Performs QA on the MRI scanner.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs on MRI equipment.
  • Instructs and assists research participants in assuming proper physical position for required exposure to magnetic images.
  • Efficiently coordinates the collection, organization and data entry of complex research data in a standardized fashion as mandated by research protocols and Principal Investigators.
  • Designs and maintains a system for efficient storage and retrieval of collected data. Integrates multiple data sets and/or manages databases.
  • Provides leadership and back-up to other technical staff in order to promote efficiency and foster teamwork.
  • Cross-trains radiological technologist on MRI operation, maintenance and techniques.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area.
  • Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
  • Work requires the ability to exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, greet visitors, explain medical center policies, and/or relay messages to appropriate personnel. This type of Interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients, visitors, and/or medical center employees.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure from the MD Board of Physicians Quality Assurance required.
  • ARRT MRI current certification required.
  • CPR BLS certification required.
  • Prefer MRI training program experience with clinical internship or one year of MRI experience.
  • Experience on GE MRI scanners.
