Writer and Communications Lead

Key Role:

Support a multidisciplinary delivery team, collecting and organizing information required for the preparation of various documents and presentations. Responsible for taking ownership of producing client deliverables from draft to client submission. Able to distill complex technical concepts into accessible language for a broad range of audiences in written and presentation formats. Utilize writing, editing, and communication skills to analyze and present complex information in a format that is easy to read and understand. Work collaboratively with project managers, business analysts, and subject matter experts. Provide knowledge transfer on communications and writing best practices and develop standard templates in Word and PowerPoint for the team to use for development of work products. Work with senior government officials under tight deadlines to translate ideas and concepts into professional communications products, including talking points, PowerPoint presentations, Word deliverables, articles, emails, and other communications products. Contribute to marketing and proposal strategies and development of proposal content to achieve goals in creative and effective ways. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience as a technical writer, developing content, presentations, client deliverables, executive-level briefings, and proposals
  • 5+ years of experience supporting business development and marketing efforts through documenting solutions, developing outlines, writing white papers, procurement shaping documents, technical volumes, performance work statements, and statements of work or objectives
  • Experience using Word and PowerPoint to develop client deliverables that articulate approaches, findings, analysis, solutions, and recommendations
  • Experience reviewing and editing deliverables provided by technical and non-technical staff to be client ready
  • Knowledge of grammar, sentence structure, and standards of written and visual presentation styles
  • Knowledge of business development processes, including capture and proposal phases, and industry proposal practices
  • Ability to write succinct, polished products for executive-level briefings and communications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with CRM solutions, technical migrations, and modernizations
  • Experience with proposal compliance audits
  • Knowledge of government contracting
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills to produce compelling written deliverables
  • Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC) Certification or other professional writing certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
