The IO Messaging Planner will assist the team with the development of well-written messages for internal/external audiences to ensure they are nested with Department of Navy and Marine Corps Strategies. The planner will ensure that DC I messages are synchronized with other Deputy Commandants, Service Components (SCC), and the Department.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Developwell-written messages for internal/external audiencesConduct threat-informed, capability-based analysis driving Service, COCOM, Joint Staff, or DOD planning effortsConduct and plan strategies related to integrated deterrence and implementing analytical strategies in support of these effortsRequired Qualifications:Active TS/SCI clearance; eligible for CAP/SAP/STO access10+ years Public Affairs or COMMSTRAT experienceGraduated service-level/Joint IO planning courses or the award of the Marine Corps 17XX, Army Functional Area-30 MOS, or equivalentDemonstrated expertise in the field of PA/COMMSTRAT within Defense rolesMust have a work history demonstrating success at increasing levels of responsibility and project complexity, including the ability to work with large military staff (e.g., MEF, division, CCMD, etc.) and developing well-crafted messagesShall have a comprehensive understanding of PA authorities, good critical thinking and writing skills, and the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams to develop strategic messagesEducation Requirements:BS/BA in a relevant field or ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in the field of PA may be substituted for a bachelor s degree.Physical and Environmental Conditions:Requires Sitting (66%), Standing (15%), Walking (15%), Near Acuity (100%), Speaking (100%), Listening (100%), Sight (100%), Use of fingers and hands (100%), Travel 5% CONUS.This position description is not intended as, nor should it be construed as, exhaustive of all responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with this job.
