Job description

Job Title: Cloud Administrator

Location: Herndon, VA (2 days on-site)

Job Type: Contract to hire


The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and management of their cloud-based infrastructure, focusing on Microsoft 365, Microsoft Cloud (Azure), Intune, and Microsoft Defender. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical expertise and the ability to work collaboratively to ensure the security, reliability, and efficiency of their cloud services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage user accounts, licenses, and roles in Microsoft 365.
  • Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Administer Azure Active Directory (AAD) for user identity and access management.
  • Configure and maintain security measures and best practices in Azure environments.
  • Implement and manage security policies, compliance settings, and data loss prevention (DLP).
  • Enroll, configure, and manage devices (Windows, iOS, Android) using Microsoft Intune.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement corrective measures.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to design and implement cloud solutions.
  • Document processes, procedures, and configurations.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a cloud administrator or cloud server administrator with a focus on Microsoft technologies.
  • Experienced in Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including Azure AD, resource management, and security.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender and security best practices.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and cloud infrastructure.
  • Microsoft certifications preferred,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
