Electrical Engineering Manager Packaging Machines / Assembly Machines / Industrial Machinery / Controls / Software Filamatic is seeking an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead a team that designs electrical control systems incorporating multi-axis motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatics for the manufacturing of liquid filling machinery systems supporting the biotech, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and cannabis industries. Our liquid packaging lines typically include bottle unscramblers, liquid fillers, pluggers, cappers, labelers, coders, and inspection systems. Our machines are capable of dispensing from microliters to gallons at speeds of up to 250 containers per minute. You will develop technical drawing packages, generate electrical schematics, panel layouts, and control software. Responsibilities Organize team roles, evaluate employee performance and partner with Senior Engineering Manager and Human Resources to address any performance issues. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and support employee continued professional development. Maintain team accountability to policies, procedures and corporate values. Work closely with engineering team, other departments, and customers from concept through product delivery in the design of control systems and machinery engineered to our customers unique specifications. Develop product concepts, technical drawing packages, and cost estimates. Work collaboratively with assembly and technician teams to troubleshoot and debug issues that may arise in the building phase of the project. Develop solutions to complex challenges within the defined project timeline. Incorporate engineering standards for reusable design components and standard parts. Interface with mechanical engineering, sales, manufacturing, assembly, and technical service. Create performance calculations, wiring diagrams, flow charts, sequence of events, BOMs, and specification sheets. Lead design review and knowledge-sharing discussions. Generate schematics, panel layouts, and machine software (PLC, HMI, Motion) Troubleshoot and resolve controls issues with new and existing filling & capping machinery. Design retrofit control systems for pre-existing machines. Qualifications Bachelor s Degree in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechatronics or similar) and 5+ years of experience or an Associate s Degree with 10+ years experience with electrical engineering, controls, and software. Demonstrated blank page design experience. Experience with multi-axis motion control systems, electromechanical systems, and pneumatics. Experience designing and programming control systems for complex automated, multifunctional industrial machinery. Knowledge of NEC standards/regulations. PLC ladder logic Motion control & servo systems experience. AutoCAD/Draftsight or similar 2D CAD experience. Experience managing multiple intermediate and large projects from conception to completion. Experience coaching/mentoring junior team members. Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Ability to complete designs on time, within budget, that meet customers specifications.
