Title: Circulation-Night SupvVP Area: Provost - UMWDepartment: LibraryCampus Location: Main CampusAdvertised Range: $36,000-$37,500Job Summary/Basic FunctionsInteracts with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the community at-large to insure high quality public service. Assists the Access Services and Outreach Librarian in the daily operation of the department, which includes the supervising, hiring, and training of the Student Assistants. During certain times, the Library Specialist 1 will have sole responsibility for the Circulation Department operations, the physical building and its contents, and for the safety of the Library patrons. This position requires a physical presence at the Circulation/Reserve/HCC Info Desk in order to carry out the functions of these units, and to ensure the safety and security of the patrons, the staff, the building, and its contents. The position is responsible for monitoring student schedules, including approvals in absence of the Access Services and Outreach Librarian. The position serves as the primary back up for Course Reserves activities. Manages equipment lending projects. The position maintains a work schedule of 1:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday-Thursday; the work schedule varies during the summer sessions and breaks.Required Experience:Previous public service and supervisory experience.Additional Considerations:KSAsThe ability to use automated library software. The ability to use and modify web application software.EDUCATIONBachelors degree. ExperienceExperience with an Integrated Library system.
