What You'll Get to Do:

Deputy Division Director assists the Division Contract Director in managing high volumes of work for the Civil Division of the Department of Justice. The Division Deputy must be capable of performing all Division Contract Director management and coordinating functions, as assigned by the Division Contract Director, and will be required to attend numerous periodic and ad hoc face-to-face meetings with the COR and Government Case Managers.

More About the Role:

The Deputy Division Director manages the IT facets of the Civil Division work which includes development, IT support staff, and litigation support staff that are responsible for the processing, loading, review/analytics, and productions for all cases. Also manages a team to work data analytics requests from attorney teams in the ADAM lab utilizing Tableau, IBM i2/EIA, Python and other business intelligence solutions.

In addition, the Deputy Division Director participates as a Capture Manager and Solutions Architect on large scale proposals which includes determining solutions/themes, briefing executive leadership, preparing pricing, establishing teaming agreements and writing technical sections. When applicable, the Deputy Division Director also Identifies, procures and manages subcontractors for current and future business opportunities.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
  • Increasingly responsible management positions with DOJ contracts, or comparable experience.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of litigation support.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience. Undergraduate degree strongly preferred. Law degree or other pertinent graduate degree helpful.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of business administration.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of human resource management.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of information management and eDiscovery.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional technical litigation support teams to identify program capabilities, assess resources, and collaborate with personnel ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope of budget.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Knowledge of the Government's IT environment and Security standards.
  • Experience managing large-scale technical projects and teams on Firm Fixed Priced, Cost Plus, Time and Materials or Fixed Unit Price contracts.


These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
  • Subject matter expertise in discovery and litigation support, including industry certifications and demonstrations of prior experience managing the full life. cycle of large scale litigation support projects.
  • Prior experience managing vendor partner relations.
  • Technical knowledge and credentials.
  • Experience designing/leading software development efforts, and a track record for releasing software on time.
  • Experience with the SCRUM methodology, PMBOK, or agile based approaches to software development and managing project lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including source control, build processes, testing, and maintenance/operations.
  • Experience or knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools for analysis, investigation, and/or reporting (Tableau, IBM i2, Palantir, Python, etc.).
