**Taproom General Manager Responsibilities**

* Leadership

+ Setting a welcoming, appropriate, and professional tone for staff communication and dynamics; is informed and up-to-date on the Taproom and company offerings, products, services, policies, and events.

+ Maintaining a fun, inclusive, welcoming, and safe atmosphere for our Customers and Employees.

+ Sets the culture and the pace for the Taproom always looking for ways to improve.

+ Manages the day-to-day operations for both the Taproom and Beer Garden (loss prevention, culture, profitability).

* Relationship Management

+ Working well with diverse personalities of both our staff and customers.

+ Diffusing situations between customers or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if needed.

+ Always looking to add elements of surprise and celebration to the Taproom culture (staff/customers) creates raving fans.

+ Working with internal partners: Marketing, Production, Operations, Quality, and Sales.

* Employee Development

+ Hiring, training, on-boarding and development of staff to promote excellent service, knowledge, efficiency, and growth.

+ Working with Taproom On-Shift managers to develop leadership and management skills.

+ Develop consistent processes (daily work / SOPs) and procedures for consistency within the team, shifts and the beer garden.

+ Ability to coach, observe, train, and hold the team accountable always holding to the core Land-Grant values.

+ Utilize weekly emails, slacks, or shift meetings so the whole team stays informed on Land-Grant updates, events, and beers holds a high value on communication and keeping the team informed.

+ Will develop a cadence and plan for staff 1:1s and team meetings (shift) to accomplish the best customer experience.

* Business Operations

+ Managing the business aspects of the taproom: maintaining licenses and certifications, negotiating and enforcing supplier contracts, taking inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, setting goals, and appearance/cleanliness of Taproom and Beer Garden.

+ Managing appropriate par-levels for Taproom inventories.

+ Creating effective schedules and quickly resolving conflicts to ensure the Taproom and carryout is appropriately staffed at all times.

+ Using training, creativity, and teamwork to drive and grow merchandise, to go beer, and overall taproom sales

+ Scheduling, monitoring, supervision, and documentation of preventive maintenance for Taproom equipment.

+ Enforcing quality and safety controls.

+ Knows the beer launch calendar to ensure pos is updated, staff is trained, and beer is stocked and ready to sell.

+ Works closely w/the LG Controller to establish and manage appropriate KPIs to deliver the current, month, quarter and annual plan.

+ Oversees the maintenance of both the Taproom and Beer Garden (furniture, equipment, etc.).

* Taproom & Beer Garden Ambience & Aesthetics

+ Managing and evaluating: Sound levels, TVs/Screens, Signage (Posters, Digital Boards, Table Tents, etc.)

+ Upkeep and cleanliness of the entire area(s) (paint, graffiti, broken stools, bathroom items, umbrellas, etc.)

+ Manages the Seasonal Strategy for customer engagement (reservations, activities, etc.).

* Reservation, Tour, and Event Management

* Works in coordination w/LG Events Manager, Community Manager and Marketing to execute programming needs.

* Manages Taproom communications, works with groups (smaller parties) and staffs weekly tours (Saturdays).

* Manage the coordination for all special events hosted at the Taproom while keeping a calendar of booked events.

* Coordinate (informs) with Marketing/Design to assist in the promotion and execution of these events.

**Position Requirements**

* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to resolve conflicts, assess customer and employee needs, and evaluate customer satisfaction.

* Hospitality management experience is preferred.

* Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training initiatives.

* Excellent computer skills and knowledge of POS operations.

* Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

* Ability to walk, stand, and occasionally carry heavy items for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment.

* Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

* TIPS certification required.

* Cicerone Certified Beer Server required within 90 days of hire.
