We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Psychiatrist to join this esteemed team in a non-profit, outpatient clinical setting that primarily serves the adult population. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Comprehensive Evaluations: Perform thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments to accurately diagnose patients.
  • Treatment and Management: Diagnose and treat a range of mental health disorders, including substance abuse and intellectual disabilities.
  • Collaborative Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Progress Monitoring: Continuously monitor patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Medication Management: Oversee medication management, prescribing appropriate psychotropic medications based on patient needs.
Essential Functions:
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with therapists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to provide cohesive care.
  • Continuous Education: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in psychiatric research and treatment modalities.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain meticulous and accurate medical records in compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Ethical Practice: Adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines in the provision of patient care.
  • Patient and Family Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, and available resources.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Must hold a valid Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) license in Virginia. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience working with individuals with serious mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and/or substance abuse disorders.
  • DEA Certification: Must possess an unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate.
  • Driver s License: Valid Driver's License, a clean driving record, and the ability to provide personal transportation are required.
