Join A-TEK Inc in supporting the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as an AV Support Specialist II. In this role, you will provide crucial audiovisual support for conferences, meetings, and other events, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of AV systems. You will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, and contribute to the mission of advancing medical knowledge and improving public health. Responsibilities
    • Responsible for providing audio-visual integration, configuration, and decommissioning of components such as displays, projectors, sound systems, microphones, cameras, and control panels of standard and complex conference rooms.
    • Provide technical support and maintain the lifecycle of conference room equipment such as DSPs, projectors, flat panel displays, scheduling panels, AV-over-IP devices, computers, speakers, mics, etc.
    • Maintaining communication with customers and stakeholders, informing them of incident progress via ticket documentation and the use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
    • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on larger installation projects and system overhauls.
    • Escalate repair of malfunctioning equipment to advanced support vendors and oversee repair requests cycle through completion by the vendor.
    • Manage routine questions by customers about operation and usage of conference room equipment.
    • Familiarity with troubleshooting standards of audio-visual technologies such as AV-over-IP devices, Crestron devices, microphones, cameras, speakers, etc.
    • Familiar with both PC and Mac operating systems
    • Tests facility audiovisual equipment to ensure proper operation and configures equipment and venues to accommodate special user needs.
    • Review, replace, or upgrade audio-visual equipment as needed to meet evolving requirements and technology standards; make recommendations for upgrades and enhancements to best serve the end-user and technology stack.


Qualifications
    • High School diploma and 3 to 6 years of experience (college degree a plus)
    • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification or desire to attain is required.
    • Experience working with audio-visual systems, both integration and troubleshooting issues
    • Experience working with AV technologies such as Extron, Crestron, Biamp, Shure and Poly; control systems, matrix switchers, extenders, and audio DSPs.
    • Knowledge of troubleshooting efforts, problem-solving and diagnosis skills with an understanding of signal flow
    • Prior experience working with audio equipment and familiarity with audio signal flow.
    • Experience supporting Government contracts is preferred.
    • Effective communication skills with a strong customer service orientation with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients.
    • Capability to assist in the design of AV systems under the guidance of senior engineers, including reading system diagrams and integration plans.
    • This position has physical demands including, but not limited to: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment; walk to assignments throughout the building multiple times a day; travel to neighboring sites for support; ability to use hand tools as need, climb ladders, crawl under tables to run.
