Training & Safety Manager

Job description

Training and Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training programs and safety initiatives for our field operations personnel. This role requires a strong background in training methodologies, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance within the federal government contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Program Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement training programs tailored to the specific needs of our field operations personnel, including technical skills training, safety training, and professional development.

Safety Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including OSHA regulations, NFPA codes, and other industry-specific requirements.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and best practices to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

Training Delivery:

  • Deliver training sessions to field operations personnel through a variety of methods, including in-person training sessions, virtual training sessions, and self-paced online courses.
  • Ensure that training materials are engaging, informative, and effective in meeting learning objectives.

Performance Evaluation:

  • Develop and implement methods for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs, including conducting assessments, collecting feedback, and analyzing performance metrics.
  • Continuously improve training programs based on feedback and evaluation results.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay up-to-date on relevant regulations, standards, and best practices related to training and safety in the federal government contracting industry.
  • Ensure that training programs and safety initiatives are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments, including Human Resources, Operations, and Project Management, to ensure that training and safety initiatives are integrated into overall business processes and objectives.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, including attendance, completion, and evaluation results.
  • Prepare regular reports on training and safety metrics, trends, and compliance status for management review.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in developing and delivering training programs, preferably in a federal government contracting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards, including OSHA regulations and NFPA codes.
  • Experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively deliver training to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Certification in training and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTM) and/or safety (e.g., CSP, CHST) preferred.

  • Security Clearances: This position may require a security clearance. The clearance requirements are determined by the agency(s) in which you are assigned. Convergint Federal will sponsor the level of clearance required. However, it will be your responsibility to obtain and maintain your required level of clearance.
