Acclaim Technical Services, founded in 2000, is a leading language, operations, and technology services company supporting a wide range of U.S. Federal agencies. We are an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) company, which is uncommon within our business sector. We see this as a significant strength, and it shows: ATS is consistently ranked as a top workplace among DC area firms and continues to grow. ATS is actively sourcing a Firefighter to work directly for the U.S. Government on-site in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Firefighters at this level work under direct supervision, responding to fire alarms and other emergency calls to protect life and property; driving emergency apparatus, including an advanced life support unit; working to combat, extinguish and prevent fires; participating in rescue extrication operations; and providing emergency medical care to the sick or injured. Work also involves stocking and distributing firefighting and emergency medical supplies and equipment, and performing standby duties for high hazard activities.
Work may involve strenuous physical activity and exposure to extreme heat, smoke, falling materials, toxic chemicals, and other hazardous conditions. Firefighters are required to work 24-hour rotating shifts and are expected to work overtime, if needed, and to return to work during off-duty hours in the event of an emergency.
