The purpose of this position is to provide health and wellness opportunities for students. This is accomplished by evaluating the feasibility of implementing American College Health Association s (ACHA) Standards of Practice for Health Promotion in Higher Education at HCC and assessing the wellness needs of the current HCC student population. This position designs and delivers in-person and online programming that addresses assessed student wellness needs; develops and maintains external partnerships to strengthen the college s connection to community wellness organizations; and establishes relevant wellness workshops and programs. The Specialist will chair and facilitate the campus Hunger Free Task Force while supervising the HCC Resource Center and Student Emergency Assistance requests; develop and supervise the Student Wellness peer-to-peer programs, including OWLS in Action; plan and coordinate the annual Wellness Fair; oversee the contract for mental health counseling and liaising with the on-site counselor, and serve on the Student Intervention & Prevention (SIP) Team.
