Our client, a moving specialist based in Springfield, VA is seeking an experienced Local Moving Dispatcher to join their team.

The Local Moving Dispatcher will be responsible for overseeing Moving & Relocation operations and crew, including scheduling, dispatching, and monitoring daily work assignments.

Responsibilities of the Local Moving Dispatcher:

• Communicate by phone, email, and fax with clients, both internal and external.
• Follow established protocols to receive orders via computer from coordinators.
• Examines coordinators' data entry for correctness and labour coordination.
• Assigns and monitors employees, such as drivers, packers, assistants, and warehouse staff.
• Plans local operations using computer software.
• Upholds timetables for every division's relocation services.
• Fills in as a Certified Weigh Master when necessary.
• Monitors and notifies clients of anticipated arrival timings as necessary.
• Arranges for the removal of trash and debris when needed.
• Arrange for incoming and outgoing storage activities.
• This position may occasionally call for outside on-the-job driving or supervision.
• Addresses issues at work as they come up, whether they have to do with unhappy customers or interactions between staff members and job performance.
• May be needed to carry out all tasks delegated to coordinators as necessary.
• May work on Saturdays and as a late-night dispatcher.
• The position can occasionally call for travel.

Experience Required for the Local Moving Dispatcher:

• Previous experience dispatching within the moving & relocation services sector
• Strong man-management skills
• Highly organised
• Must be able to work independently
