BIM/VDC Coordinator


CSP is partnering with a reputable Commercial, Industrial, and Residential HVAC and Plumbing company located in Harford County, MD.


Job Summary:


The BIM/VDC Coordinator is responsible for producing and coordinating detailed 3D models and subsequent shop drawings for the assigned projects. Reporting directly to the BIM/VDC Manager, the Coordinator ensures that project models are generated accurately, compliant with contract documents and produce deliverables.


Job Responsibilities:


  • BIM Authoring: Coordinate the development and management of HVAC, mechanical piping, or plumbing models throughout the pre-construction and construction phases of projects
  • Model Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks on models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements and standards
  • Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration among the greater project team, including General Contractor VDC members, other trade partners, project managers, and superintendents to integrate BIM into project workflows effectively
  • Clash Detection and Resolution: Utilize clash detection software to identify and resolve conflicts within the federated model, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to implement solutions
  • Constructability: Utilize industry knowledge of construction practices to identify potential problem areas and implement viable solutions preventing delays and costly rework
  • Visualization and Communication: Generate visualizations and renderings from BIM models to aid in project communication, coordination, and field team engagement
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation records of revisions and changes for all model files, and shop drawings.


Job Qualifications:


  • 1-3 years of experience with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam Revu
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems, materials, and construction processes
  • Knowledge of industry standards related to BIM, and the processes using BIM for project coordination
  • Ability to read and comprehend contract documents, including Architectural, Structural, and MEP drawings or specifications
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
  • Exhibit attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Utilize strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.


Education:


  • High school diploma or GED
  • CAD or Revit Training Course, or relevant Vocational School experience preferred
