A Day in the Life of a Technical Support Specialist

As a Technical Support Specialist, you'll be part of our IT team connecting our North American offices and our people together. New team members will depend on you to get them started off on the right foot by setting up their accounts and equipment. You'll be responsible for supporting the various technology systems that link us together and will have the opportunity to learn about the newest technologies and tools, collaborating with highly skilled technical and administrative staff, and solving problems as they arise. Work Schedule for a Technical Support Specialist:

This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home 2-3 days per week. The Columbus office of Toole Design opened in 2018 and is in downtown Columbus on Broad Street, across from Capitol Square. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.

Requirements

Qualifications of a Technical Support Specialist:

  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in an IT helpdesk environment providing tier 1 customer service to end users (CompTIA A+ preferred)
  • Experience with a Windows-based environment
  • Basic understanding of networking, VPNs, Firewalls
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
It would be a plus if you have:
  • Experience with Microsoft 365
  • Experience supporting CADD (Autodesk and Bentley), GIS (ESRI and QGIS), or Design (Adobe CC) software
  • Experience using configuration management tools such as Microsoft Intune/Autopilot
  • Experience in cybersecurity best practices
