Amazon Corporate Security's (ACS) Prototype Security team is searching for a Prototype Security Sr. Manager to handle all physical security components for securing our in-office and off-site testing needs, globally. This role will develop, implement, support, and lead prototype security projects and programs in support of Amazon's prototype device teams. This role will be focused on overseeing the global remit to ensure consistent security programs are provided and implemented to all of Amazon's worldwide prototype device users. In this position, the Prototype Security Sr. Manager will have regular engagement with all product lines of business to create and foster an engagement model to ensure security has a seat at the table with all Amazon Devices & Services Organization product lines. To be successful in this position, the Prototype Security Sr. Manager must have the ability to learn the Amazon prototype development process and build strong relationships with key business teams, develop and innovate solutions to enable automation of manual data entry processes and have a solid understanding of data collection methods and metrics analysis to leverage data collected to inform programmatic needs and policy direction.

This position will report to the Amazon Corporate Security, Head of Prototype Security.

Key job responsibilities

- Develop, implement, utilize, and regularly audit a comprehensive compliance program for physical security in R&D space

- Assist in the design, development, and implementation of physical security operations for all facilities handling prototype device development

- Develop innovative solutions for fast evolving security physical security risks in a R&D environment

- Develop and implement standards, policies, and procedures for Prototype Security

Conduct program security evaluations of physical security needs, Intellectual Property risk, and unique programmatic needs

- Maintain close coordination, planning, and communication with internal and external stakeholders around all aspects of the product/prototype life cycle (idea inception through finished product/prototype) security initiatives and training

- Own physical security leadership and strategic direction to regulated product development activities

- Manage multiple concurrent projects and inquiries under tight deadlines

- Budget management for all budget items within the scope of this role

- Able to stand/walk for several hours a day and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, all with or without reasonable accommodation

- Continually foster strong cross-functional relationships to drive business engagement and execution of security objectives and goals, serving as an internal champion for Prototype Security, confidentiality, and compliance with policies

- Create and implement change management strategies and communications plans that maximize employee adoption and usage of security controls, and minimize resistance to new security solutions

- Travel to various sites to review and audit security infrastructure and support onsite security awareness initiatives and events

- Work cross functionally with peers in Legal, Hardware, Supply Chain Ops, Trade & Compliance, EHS, and Security to establish scalable Prototype Security standards.

- Respond to crisis, emergency and/or disaster recovery issues that have impact on prototype development.

- Support Business Continuity planning and process implementation for product teams and Prototype Security team

- Actively evaluate, analyze, and use metrics collected to proactively inform programmatic needs and policy decisions

Work collaboratively with team members to determine strategic direction for the larger Prototype Security team.

Basic Qualifications

- 5+ year experience in facility/corporate security management, law enforcement, risk management, legal, defense security, satellite security, or related industries

- Demonstrated experience and success at leading cross functional programs and proven ability to influence and lead without direct management authority

- Ability to develop and drive strategic security decision making and influence peers and senior leaders, and effective written and oral communication with multiple levels of leadership involving both business and technical sides of the business

- Domestic and international travel may be required (10-30% of time)

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Business Management or related discipline preferred OR any equivalent combination of education, specialized training and/or experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities required

3+ years experience in managing strategic programs across a geographically dispersed area.

- Subject matter expertise in physical security operations and best practices in fast paced environments

- Proficiency in computer applications, general understanding of security systems, and general technical aptitude through demonstrated experience - Demonstrated maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills

- Understanding of statistics and how data is used to inform policies and procedures - Experience leading a global program
