Job description

Living Classrooms Foundation(LCF) is a nonprofit organization that strengthens communities and inspirespeople to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training,using urban, natural, and maritime resources as "living classrooms." Since1985, Living Classrooms Foundation (LCF) has offered a distinctive competencyin experiential learningliterally learning by direct experience, or what wecall "learning by doing." We apply our skill in three areas: K-8Education; Hands-on Enrichment Education for youth and adults that reinforcesacademic skills, healthy lifestyles, and direct stewardship; and customized JobTraining that prepares adults for employment, while fostering communitystewardship. We place a special emphasis on serving youth and families inpoverty, adjudicated youth, and adults returning to the community fromincarceration. We serve 25,000 people a year at diverse program sites in andaround Baltimore and Washington, DC.

The Administrative Assistant provides administrativesupport and reports to the Director of Community Safety.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

Attends Department meetings, record and distribute minutes withfollow up action items.

Maintainsmeeting schedule for Director of Community Safety.

Assistswith the compilation of receipts and other documentations needed for creditcard reconciliation.

Assistswith check request.

CompletesBoard Report narratives.

Providesquarterly bullet points to the Director of Admin staff for CEO/President's reportfor Community Safety Programs by requested date.

Assists the Director of Community Safety with planning,setting meeting times, and collecting notes for the Coordinating Council.

Create program marketing materials.

Facilitate/provide weekly reports to CEO for community safetyprograms.

Assists with the collection and the delivery of monthly data toDr. Jimmy Jang for all workforce development and community safety programswithin five business days of the end of the previous month.

Such otherduties as are necessary for the operations of the Foundation or as assigned bythe Director of Community Safety.

MinimumRequirements

Bachelor's degree from a competitive college or university

Experience as an Administrative Assistant in an executive office.

Organized and detailed oriented

Able to work independently and collaboratively.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The ability to adapt to any changes in daily workload and tasks.
