Job Duties

Are you knowledgeable of office management methods, practices, and procedures? Do you have experience providing administrative support to a diverse group of individuals? Then look no further! The Virginia Department of Energy, Geology and Mineral Resources program, is seeking an Office Coordinator to provide office management, administrative support, and grant support services to the program area. The successful candidate will serve as an office manager, perform administrative functions, provide customer service, handle procurement tasks, and support the administration of grants and contracts.

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate should have the following knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience in order to qualify for this position:
Knowledge of office management theories and practices
Ability to create documents and spreadsheets and maintain digital and hard copy information and files
Ability to track budgets, contracts, and expenses
Ability to ensure the proper operation of office equipment including copiers, scanners, and telephones
Ability to procure needed supplies and equipment, and perform administrative tasks to support division operations
Ability to serve as first point-of-contact for customers and process the orders of maps and publications
Ability to maintain personnel records and other proprietary records confidentially, and to ensure compliance with records retention and FOIA requirements
Ability to compose correspondence and communicate effectively with staff, building staff, and the general public
Considerable training related to office operations and management
Experience working in an office environment and providing diverse administrative support
A valid driver's license with a good driving record

The individual accepted for employment will have to pass a drug test and successfully complete reference checks as part of the Virginia Energy pre-employment process.

Additional Considerations
Experience with accounting practices, budget tracking, designing spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel, and customer service is preferred
