General Description:
This position will have primary responsibility for designing data imports
and exports in NOVA s SAS platform. Position will build statistical tables,
create/write programs and queries, and build data sets for reporting.

Duties and Tasks:


  • Build statistical tables to collect data, create/write programs to manipulate data, build appropriate data sets for reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with business units to identify data sources, create data imports and exports, and combine data sets to generate reports through NOVA s data warehouse.
  • Write programs to generate tables, listings, figures and analysis datasets. Build SAS datasets from various databases.
  • Produce analysis datasets, reports and/or graphics.
  • Provide reports, graphics and analysis as required.
  • Implement standard programming for data pre-processing and data post-processing in a quality controlled and validated environment using SAS .
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
KSA s Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office, Project, and other productivity tools.
  • Knowledge of database and server software and management.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of SAS Programming
  • Knowledge of specification writing for system requirements, business process management,
  • Knowledge of software development life cycles, software and database architecture and modeling of business requirements and processes.
  • Knowledge of IT security practices
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload, concurrently working on multiple issues and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain policy implications of software documentation and technical configuration.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to implementing enterprise-wide applications
  • Ability to determine project requirements and business needs
  • Excellent communication, motivational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent technical, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly adaptable individual with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Experience in SAS programming
  • Experience in an IT development position
  • Experience developing/managing successful enterprise-wide implementation of new technologies.
  • Experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues
  • Experience providing application support at the enterprise level

  • Experience in leading enterprise-wide implementations as technical lead
  • Experience designing, developing and maintaining SQL Server databases
  • Experience in higher education setting
