Schedule: 4 days/10 hours. Weekend availability required, 15% additional pay differential for Saturday.

Fulltime position at the Gaithersburg, MD location.

Essential Duties:

* Learns and follows the established standard operating procedures for sample handling and record keeping.

* Receives and triages patient specimens.

* Assigns each specimen an accession number and creates a patient chart.

* Enters patient information into LIMS database, with strict adherence to HIPPA laws.

* Transports all accessioned specimens to the DNA extraction team and/or cell culture team, as appropriate.

* Label patient documents with barcode for later scanning of patient charts through OnBase.

* Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance, takes authorized corrective action, and notifies key individuals.

* Adhere to quality control policies and documents all quality control activities.

Qualifications:

Required:

* High School diploma or equivalent is required

* Strong computer and typing skills (a Typing Test will be required)

* Attention to detail and accuracy are critical

* Ability to work well independently and within a team

* Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment

Preferred:

* AS or BS degree in chemistry, biology, or related science field

* Data Entry experience
